The Earth Element is associated with the direction of center with the qualities of sympathy, caring, thoughtfulness, generosity, selflessness, and abundance. In Chinese medicine, the Earth Element is associated with the season of Late Summer and the organs in the Earth element are the Stomach and Spleen—in charge of receiving energy from outside our bodies in the form of food and drink, then transforming it into something that the body can use, in the form of digestion.
As a support for the Gut, the Earth Element supports the Spleen and Stomach which are responsible for digesting of foods and thoughts and then transporting them throughout the body kingdom.
