At Honeyopathy, we are rooted in a holistic form of wellness. There are some basic concepts that support this approach to healing that may bring you more clarity in your understanding.
Universal Energy
The universe and everything in it is comprised of two kinds of energy: Yin and Yang and is referred to as 'the harmony of the universe.' As humans, we are often out of balance with Yin and Yang energies which leads to physical, emotional and spiritual pain. In a holistic approach, we must strive to reconnect with the universe and humanity to balance and align the Yin and Yang energies.
The Power of Mental Energy
In Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM), the mind plays an integral role in your health. Our thoughts are generated through mental energy and these thoughts send the body messages that are positive, negative or neutral. It's widely known that people with a positive outlook on life live longer, suffer less from sickness and have a quality of life.
Feeling Safe in Imperfection and the Unknown
Striving for perfection in of itself is not bad. It is our reaction to failure or not getting something just right where we are at risk for imbalance. Life presents its challenges on a daily basis and we can become riddled with fear at the unknown. In your mind, you can reverse these feelings through visualization of nature, its inhabitants and what's tangibly real to restore balance.
Qi Energy Source
In CCM, the lower dantian is the main energy source in the body and is located deep behind the naval. This is where vital Qi or energy is cultivated and stored. From here, it can be directed and channeled throughout the body.
Being At One With Your Body
Your body is sacred and is the source of its own wisdom. If you listen to what you're body is telling you, and trust your instincts (as they say), we can take better control of our health. In CCM, it is believed that you are your best doctor if you know how to listen to your body and learn what it needs.
Channel the Power of Your Heart Chakra
Your heart chakra is located at the center of the spine at heart level. It acts as the center of compassion, empathy, love, and forgiveness. If you think about a genuine feeling of happiness and love, you can begin to open your heart and channel that energy to your mind. This will trigger a release of endorphins that is powerful for healing. It is a simple meditation but one that is most powerful.
Holistic medicine is rooted in Chinese medicine is a system of health care developed thousands of years ago that considers health as a balanced state versus disease as an unbalanced state. Western nations medicine follows the way of hypothetical deduction (vs. inductive) and clearly divides the health from the disease."
Eastern vs. Western Medicine
While a doctor of Western medicine might track bodily imbalanced symptoms and a disease state, the Chinese medicine doctor will examine the whole person and treat the source of the imbalance including emotional, physical stressors and spiritual state. Together, they can be complimentary especially when an imbalance gone untreated has become life threatening.
