URTICA DIOICA
WOOD ELEMENT
EXUBERANCE QI 木

Nettle Leaf is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant, native to Europe, Asia, northern Africa, and North America. The plant has many hollow stinging hairs called "trichomes" on its leaves and stems, which act like needles that inject histamine, formic acid and other chemicals that produce a stinging sensation.

Stinging Nettle Leaf is a gentle diuretic, helping the body to process and flush away toxins.

Nettle Leaf imparts a salty, sweet and metallic (mineral content) flavor.
  • Bodily Effect: Nettle Leaf modulates the body's inflammatory pathways and supports upper respiratory health.
  • Emotional Effect: Nettle Leaf eases feelings of anxiety and helps us re-center in the moment while setting boundaries with ourselves and healthy boundaries with others.
  • Spiritual Effect: Nettle is a mothering herb—nourishing and loving us while teaching us to respect the world around us, to slow down, and to really get at one with nature.
Originally came to Britain with the invading Romans. Soldiers used to flog their arms and legs with the plant to keep circulation going and to keep them warm, and to ward off illness and infection rife in cold, damp weather. During WWII dark green nettle plant dye was used as camouflage, and chlorophyll was extracted for use in medicines

"Being with nature helps us to tune into our sensitivity or our life experience and not only feel more, but become close to our authentic heart center."
