When + How to Use

The Kidneys have a list of tasks to complete during the day, including controlling blood pressure by releasing hormones, controlling red blood cell production, balancing fluids, returning vitamins and minerals to the bloodstream, excreting drugs and waste products, balancing acidity and managing the amount of blood in circulation.

The Kidneys are also the hub for balancing Yin and Yang in the body and store the foundation of Life, an essence called 'Jing'. This Kidney essence is regarded as essential for reproduction, growth and development. Kidney Jing is inherited. Unfortunately, aging, stress and a busy lifestyle can deplete Jing.

Signs your Kidneys may need strengthening:
- tiredness/exhaustion
- cold feet
- swollen ankles
- a lack of drive or motivation
- lack of willpower
- shortness of breath on exertion
- back pain/knee pain/bone issues
- asthma which is worse with cold weather
- fear/ scary dreams/ fear of change
- incontinence
- irregular menstruation or infertility
- craving salty foods,
- Struggling to warm up (touch your lower back with the back of your hands to see if the skin is cold)

VITALITY formulas taken regularly, along with the following behaviors, will help support your Jang energy.
- Covering up the lower back so the Kidneys are protected from the cold.
- Eat warm foods especially in winter.
- East nourishing foods such as cabbage, chives, fennel, leeks, onions, potato, radish, scallions, sweet potato, yam, aubergine, seaweed, cherries, grapes, mulberry, goji berries, walnuts, chestnuts, pistachio, lotus seeds, black sesame seeds, ginger, garlic, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, chive, basil, black beans, lentils, kidney beans, and buckwheat, oats, quinoa, corn, black rice.
- Avoid salt and try to use salt that has no additives such as anti-caking agents (sodium aluminosilicate. E535, E536, calcium silicate).

Understanding Qi (life force energy)

Increasing energy in Chinese Medicine is about nourishing our inherited Qi (life energy force) which we are born with and can't be replaced once we use it—and feeding our daily sources as well. The daily sources of Qi come in the form of the air we breathe, the food we eat and we improve our uptake and retention of this Qi by gentle exercise, calm minds and adequate rest. This daily source of Qi is the fuel in our bodies and ideally we do not use more then we take in each day. When daily Qi runs low and we ignore tiredness signs we start to draw on the inherited Qi. If this happens too often this Qi diminishes and we begin to feel really tired.

Along with our bee-based products used daily, exercise frequently, have a moderate and fulfilling lifestyle, eat well and sleep regularly. If you're still tired, you have Qi stagnation or a Qi deficiency. Your CCM practitioner might use acupuncture or acupressure to relieve or boost your Qi.

Good energy is not just about having more energy to zip around working harder and harder but having the right amount in the right place at the right time to feel truly well. It is about feeling comfortable in body and soul and enjoying a healthy longevity.

Sourcing + Sustainability

Our connection to homeopathy runs deep, which is why we’re so invested in natural preservation. Through our on-going support of sustainable beekeeping practices, we hope to demonstrate our commitment to protecting the environment and our place in it.

Historically, Classical Chinese Medicine has been known to use ingredients that aren’t always ethically or sustainably sourced. While modern sourcing practices have improved, our goal is to set a new CCM standard with an emphasis on ethical and sustainable practices that leave a lighter footprint and a better world for all.

We are committed to preserving the environment by using sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. This includes getting herbs from Good Agricultural Practice farms, ensuring all of our ingredients are protected, harvestable and not endangered.

Authenticity and sustainability are pillars of Honeyopathy, which translates into the way we source our botanicals. We use only sustainably-sourced herbs from Good Agriculture Practice farms and are third-party tested in the U.S. for both safety and authenticity, setting the highest standard in Chinese herbal medicine.

About us

Our Story

Wendy and Krystal realized they shared not just a love of nature but also a vision for a new kind of company—one that embraces diversity, develops products that fund sustainable practices for bees and their habitats—to profit for good and support their commitment to helping bees flourish.

The Process

Honey is one the oldest known antibiotics and has been used for thousands of years as a food and medicine. Honeyopathy's process supports the positive energy of honeybees and the plants they pollinate for the highest and best product experience.

Meet Our Homeopath

Dr. Krystal Couture is a gifted healer and spiritual teacher grounded in the practice of Chinese medicine. She crafts our botanical blends to harness the energy of plants, flowers and gemstones to heal from within.

"These infused honey products by Honeyopathy are brilliant. The tea is so warm and perfectly formulated for daytime drinking, the honey is *unreal, and on and on!"

Rachelle Robinett
